On 6th June, hundreds of people of all nationalities will walk in the footsteps of 47 Royal Marine Commando to raise funds for veterans and memorials. The unit's mission on D Day 1944 was to land, to walk ten miles behind enemy lines, and liberate the fishing town of Port en Bessin from inland. Each year, this walk has long been recreated by veterans, French friends and families, and by serving Royal Marines. A charity now supports 47 veterans and their widows as well as building and maintaining memorials to the dead. We are an international group dedicated to glorifying peace, and the men of 47 who helped achieve it.
