Personal Information

Leslie George Willmott joined the Royal Marines at the RM Depot Lympstone on the 13th of November 1941. He then became Home Based Ledger at Royal Marines Division on the 30th of December 1941. On the 1st of August 1943 he joined 47 RM Commando in Dorchester, landed on D-Day and fought with the Commando on Walcheren, where he lost his friends James Muir of 47 Commando and William Bean of 48 Commando. On the 5th of March 1946 he went to Chatham Division and was released Class 'A' on the 4th of May 1946.
