Wounded 13/14 January 1945. Gordon Tye, generally known by his nickname Tim (as in Tiny Tim because he was a tall man), joined the Royal Marines in 1938 and served on several ships as a gun layer until he volunteered for the Commandos in 1943. Serving as a corporal with 47 RM Commando, he was wounded in action at Kapelsche veer.
