Cpl. Tom Robbins was in the original 10th battalion RM, he went on six Norway landings known as Timberforce, and was one of the few who survived taking the western feature in Port-en-Bessin, France. Tom witnessed his mate Brian Oates getting killed of a direct hit from one of the flak-ships in the harbour of Port-en-Bessin, while trying to take the western feature. Tom saw action in Norway, France, Holland and Germany.
